Built in 831 during the Abbasid era, the Minaret of the Bride (مئذنة العروس) was the first of the three minarets that tower above the Umayyad Mosque (الجامع الأموي) in Damascus. Local legend claims that the minaret is named after the daughter of the merchant who provided lead for the minaret's roof. On the horizon you can see the Mount Qasioun (جبل قاسيون) range. This is a reprint of a photo originally taken in 1862 by Francis Bedford.

This is a hi-res reprint (not an original), framed and printed on thick matte paper.
