This historic reprint showcases Noria al-Ja’bariyya | ناعورة الجعبرية and Noria al-Sihyuniyya | ناعورة الصهيونية alongside the Al-Nuri Mosque.
Noria al-Ja’bariyya stands between Noria al-Sihyuniyya and the mosque itself. In 1988, its aqueduct collapsed, destroying the wheel (17-meter (56-ft)) which was rebuilt shortly after.
Next to it, Noria al-Sihyuniyya is a medium-sized waterwheel measuring ~10 meters (33 feet) in diameter. Its name comes from the Bustan al-Zioniya (Garden of al-Zioniya), which it once irrigated.
