1950s Hama Clock Tower in Assi Square Framed Postcard Reprint

The Hama Clock Tower (ساعة حماة) in Assi Square (ساحة العاصي) is one of Hama's more iconic symbols. Built in 1950, this postcard showcases the tower and its Andalusian style, with colored marble in all its grandness. The original engineer who led the construction is Musallam Salei (المهندس مسلم صليعي) who used local materials to complete it. In the background you can see the Hama Governate Building (مبنى محافظة حماه). The clock tower was destroyed in the 1982 Hama massacre and has been rebuilt since (however without the colored stones).
