Built by the French between 1928-30 during the French Mandate (الانتداب الفرنسي), the Iskenderun (الإسكندرونة) Old Courthouse on Gouraud Place shines in this vintage photo reprint.

Originally part of the Ottoman Aleppo Vilayet (ولاية حلب), at the time of this photo, the region was likley still part of historical Syria - specifically, the Sanjak of Alexandretta from 1921-37 (لواء الإسكندرونة). It was annexed by Turkiye (تركيا) in 1939.

This photo is a Nitrate negative reprint from the American Colony/ Matson Photo Service.
