One of Syria's greatest sites, the Khalid ibn Al-Walid Mosque (مسجد خالد إبن الوليد) was initially the location of a small mosque, cemetery and the mausoleum of the great military commander Khalid ibn Al-Walid who led the Muslim conquest of Syria in the 7th century. A larger mosque was built in the 13th century by the Mamluks and the present-day mosque was built and finished circa 1912 by the Ottomans. This stereograph reprint from the American Colony (circa 1910) shows the new construction from the view of the cemetery.

This is a reprint (not an original), framed and printed on thick matte paper.
