The original Al-Nuri Mosque (جامع النوري), also destroyed in 1982 but restored, can be seen on the western bank (on the right). While this dry plate negative (reprint) is dated between 1898-1946, it is likley the photo taken between 1920-1939 by the American Colony/ Matson Photo Service.
